This CD to MP3 maker can operate successfully on a Windows98 or higher platform. The installation of the Power CD to MP3 Maker is easy and takes less than 30 seconds to install. The removal process is just as rapid and it can be removed successfully through the control panel of the computer. The trial offered is set to allow 18 tracks to be ripped from a CD and 10 music files on your computer converted to one of four formats. The program supports MP3, WAV, OGG and WMA files. ) The program interface has a user friendly design that offers a what- you- see is what- you- get application. The same functions available as a buttons are also available through the file menus. The file converter and help menus are the only features that can be accessed only through the file menus. One nice feature is being to select the output type and location right on the main panel. ) In addition to the Power CD to MP3 Maker being successful at both ripping and converting music media, it can be used as a music player. However, it does not have a volume control associated with it. The quality of the conversion can be controlled through the options menu and selection of frequency, bit rate, channel (stereo or mono) and the overall quality can be adjusted. The default of the MP3 settings is set for the poorest quality of audio conversion to begin. One option that is very disappointing with this program is that it does not recognize the music tags a CD holds. The program does offer music information look up through freedb.org, but this feature is not authorized for use in the trial program. Editing of the files can be done by hand for each track without a problem. Support for Power CD to MP3 Maker is offered via email through the SagaSoft website. There is a content guide that explains how the program works, but even a beginner computer user should have no problem operating this program. If you are looking for a program that is quick and easy to work with to rip your CDs this program will work great, but if you want a program that will give the opportunity to do more with your music there are better programs out there.
